20-year-old suspect Frederick Greene was charged and taken into custody Monday morning for the attempted murder of Jets player Kris Boyd in a November shooting.

Greene, facing murder and assault charges, was arrested at the University at Buffalo North Campus, where he was later transferred to the Midtown Police Precinct for questioning.

The cornerback was shot in the abdomen November 16th, in a dispute outside of a New York restaurant. The gunman then fled the scene in a BMW X8 SUV, and has had police searching for him throughout this month. Boyd was transported to Bellevue, where he has since undergone multiple procedures for his lung and pulmonary artery. He is now in stable condition, and recently surprised his fellow teammates at their team’s facility.

NATIONAL NEWS: New York Times Files Lawsuit Against Pentagon Amidst New Regulations

The New York Times has filed a lawsuit against the Pentagon for infringing on first amendment rights in a new set of rules regarding coverage of American military operations.

The limitations, which went into effect last October, consist of a 21-page document that journalists must adhere to when gathering and reporting information from Pentagon sources, stating that “reporting any information not approved by department officials” could lead to punishment, “regardless of whether such news gathering occurs on or off Pentagon grounds, and regardless of whether the information at issue is classified or unclassified.”

They have also set limitations on where reporters can walk around in the Pentagon complex.

These restrictions, if not followed by reporters in the Pentagon, could result in a loss of their press passes and further access to military intel.

The Times argued that these new laws were a direct violation of first amendment rights and freedoms that were granted to press and speech, with several journalists from the Pentagon Press Corp voluntarily handing in their press passes after the rules were announced.

Since the Time’s lawsuit, which may soon grow to include other news organizations, the Pentagon has announced that a new set of news outlets (ones who agreed to their statues) will be taking their place in the press offices of the Pentagon.

A staggering 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck the northeastern coast of Japan this past Monday, injuring over 30 people and displacing over 90,000 residents.

The earthquake struck about 80 kilometers offshore of the Aomori region, prompting tsunami surges that rose to about 27 inches. The impact of the earthquake is said to have left around 2,700 homes without electricity, also suspending most train services.

Japan is regionally located along the seismically active Ring of Fire, their biggest cause for frequent earthquakes, and authorities continue to warn residents of lingering aftershocks as the week goes on.
