Protesters In Times Square After Russian Attack On Ukraine
Protesters were seen in Times Square after Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
On November 19th, Russia dropped missiles and drones in Ukraine, killing at least 25 people and injuring many more. Many of the deceased were in the city of Ternopil. The war that began in February of 2022 seems to have no end in sight.
NYC Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani Meets With President Trump
New York City’s mayor-elect, Zohran Mamdani, met with President Trump at the White House on Friday. The pair seemed to be getting along after taking shots at each other publicly during the mayoral campaign.
Trump has openly expressed how he felt about Mamdani and even warned New Yorkers not to vote for him, but now says he’s cheering for Mamdani. Mamdani, who has called Trump a “despot”, has said that he enjoyed his meeting with the president. Although they’ve admitted that there are things they don't agree on, they focused on talking about what they do agree on in the meeting.
Deadly Floods & Landslides In Vietnam
Heavy rainfall in Vietnam has caused deadly floods. Many homes have been submerged underwater, and the rain has not stopped. At least 41 people have died in this flood, and many others have been injured or gone missing. The coastal cities of Hoi An and Nha Trang have been affected most by the flooding and rainfall. The police, along with military troops, have set up emergency shelters.
Landslides triggered by the heavy rains in the area caused damage to major roads and highways; one road collapsed into a ravine. A state of emergency has been declared after this.
Stranger Things Coming To An End
The first part of the final season of Stranger Things will be available to watch on Netflix on November 26th at 8:00 PM EST. The Netflix original show aired in 2016 and will come to an end when the third and final part is released on New Year's Eve.
Season four ended with many cliffhangers, leaving fans in anticipation of season five. Many have been speculating that several main characters will be killed off. The Duffer brothers have confirmed at least one major death in season five. They’ve also said that season five has the most violent death, although it is less violent than season four.
The last season will be aired three years after season four was released and nine years after season one.
Las Vegas Grand Prix Set To Take Place
The Las Vegas Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on Saturday at 11:00 PM EST. The first race of the last triple header of the season, with a three-way championship battle, leaves no room for error between the contenders.
McLaren driver Lando Norris currently leads the championship with 390 points. His teammate Oscar Piastri trails by 24 points and RedBull driver and four-time champion Max Verstappen by 49 points. Will Norris be able to keep his Piastri and Verstappen at bay?
For the first time since the first Las Vegas GP was held in 2023, drivers are experiencing wet track conditions. Will this make things harder for McLaren, who are known for struggling on this track, or will it better their odds for a higher track position?
